According to the proxy statements recently submitted by these companies to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the following is the compensation of the CEOs of these technology giants last year:
Apple CEO Tim Cook: Total compensation last year reached $63.2 million, including basic annual salary, stock awards, non-equity incentive plan compensation and other compensation. The nearly 40% pay cut from $99.4 million in 2022 comes as shareholder advisory firms urge investors to oppose its 2022 pay package.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella: Total compensation last year was US$48.5 million, including salary, stock, non-equity incentives and other compensation. This is a 12% decrease compared to $54.9 million in 2023.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang: received a salary of US$34.2 million in the most recent fiscal year, which included stock awards, cash bonuses and other expenses.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg: Since 2013, his base salary has been only a symbolic $1, but he has received millions of dollars in security and logistics expenses, and his total compensation in 2023 will be $24.4 million.
Alphabet (Google parent company) CEO Sundar Pichai: Compensation in 2023 will be US$8.8 million, including salary and personal security expenses.
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy: Compensation in 2023 will be US$1.3 million, including salary and security costs. His remuneration received is US$29.2 million, including the value of cashed shares.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk: The salary situation in 2023 is pending after a judge rejected his $56 billion salary package. In 2019, Musk himself requested to stop receiving a salary from Tesla. His salary package relied on a series of assessment targets. According to Tesla, all assessment targets have been met.
